The Organizer is pleased to invite the participation of wine producers, importers and merchants from all over the world in the prestigious Danube Wine Challenge 2025/International Wine Competition.
The competition is a member of The World Federation of Major International Wine and Spirits Competitions VINOFED. It will be organized in accordance with these Statutes under the patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
.
The Danube Wine Challenge’s main focus is wines from the Danube basin - uniting producers that share historical, cultural, winemaking and gastronomic traditions.
The competition also welcomes wines from all wine regions - representing a unique opportunity to compare international wines characterised by specific soil and climatic conditions, as well as varying approaches to grape growing and winemaking.
Apart from silver, gold and grand gold medals, the wines may be awarded additional trophies, as for instance: Prix VINOFED (in 4 categories: best dry still white, best dry still rosé and best dry still red wine, best brut sparkling wine), Best Blaufränkisch (dry red wine), Best Grüner Veltliner (dry white wine), among others.
The remarkable feature of this competition is the introduction of the category: white wines with maceration (Orange wines). Meeting the tradition of the organising country, the category of Fruit wines has been included in the competition, recently. Following the latest trends in wine industry, the "NoLow" category of partially or completely de-alcoholized wines has been introduced for the 2025 edition.
